My name is Niall and for 25 years, I’ve been a blues fan (I must have committed crimes in a past life to be a bluenose!). I’ve followed blues home and away, and have seen the rare highs and the many, many lows. Growing up in Birmingham, the blues are ingrained into my life. I am a season ticket holder (gold away member) and now live in Derby.
Growing up, I was quite late on the football bandwagon. Classmates were football fans long before me, but as I played with them at lunch and played out on the streets of Stechford, football took it’s grasp on me. The more I played, the more I wanted to go and watch the real thing. This is where my Great Uncle comes into my blues journey. After hearing about my desire to watch some “proper” football, he took me to my first game; a frosty, cold match against Reading in December 2007. I don’t remember much from the game other than how cold I was! Fast forward to now and I’m trekking up and down the country following blues, through the joys and the sorrows too!
I've wanted to get involved in creating content around matchday experiences, and the boys offered their platform as an outlet for me. You can find my first "Murphy's Matchday Vlog!" on The Tilton Two Youtube, in which we did the double over West Brom!
